WHY 100% WESTERN RED CEDAR?

It's Beautiful - Western Red Cedar's rich grain and vibrant color make it the preferred material for all applications where beauty is important.

It's Strong - Western Red Cedar has excellent dimensional stability and endurance. It lays flat, stays straight and is less likely to twist and crack than other wood products such as treated lumber.

It's Long Lasting - The supremacy of 100% Western Red Cedar as an all-weather building material is entirely natural. Along with its beauty, stability and endurance, Western Red Cedar contains natural oils that act as preservatives to help the wood resist insect attack and decay. Properly finished and maintained Western Red Cedar ages gracefully and endures for many years.

It's Non-Toxic - Western Red Cedar is non-toxic and safe for all uses, and requires no chemical treatment unless the wood is in direct contact with the ground, in which case a protective sealant will protect against moisture.

It Smells Good - Western Red Cedar is probably best known for its distinctive aroma. Over time the wood remains subtly aromatic and the characteristic fragrance adds another dimension to the universal appeal of our products.

Q&As

Q: Can anyone build a Cedarshed product, or do I need building experience?
A: All Cedarshed products are designed so that while you don't have to be a professional carpenter to assemble the product, limited carpentry skills are recommended.

Q: What if I receive a damaged or missing piece?
A: Please see our Warranty Policy, or simply call our toll-free customer support line at 1-800-830-8033. Consumers can call us directly, and we will courier or ship the broken or missing part from our plant, within ten (10) business days.

Q: Should I apply an exterior stain to protect my Cedarshed product?
A: Cedarshed products, if left unfinished will turn a silvery grey for a rustic, weathered look, which some people prefer. However, the use of a quality stain can enhance both its good looks and its natural durability. It responds beautifully to oil-based stains in your choice of tinted transparent finishes for a natural effect, or lightly pigmented semitransparent finishes. Look for a coating that offers good mildewed and ultraviolet shielding properties as well as additional preservatives to protect it's youthful complexion. Varnishes and other film-forming coatings which can crack and peel and are not recommended for use on Cedar. Read more on care

Q: What is a tongue and groove ceiling?
A: A tongue and groove ceiling is a more expensive pattern of roof sheathing your shingles are attached to. Inside most sheds when you look up you will see the underside of the shingles. We believe the tongue and groove ceiling provides a more finished appearance, as the underside of the shingles is not visible.
